Teacher of the Year

The CHS teacher of the year award goes to Mrs. Edwards. She has worked very hard to earn this reward. We asked her the following questions on January 23rd, 2019:

How do you feel about being teacher of the year?

“I feel very honored.”

What do you like most about teaching as a career?

“I like working with teenagers, and seeing students reach their goals that they set for themselves.”

When did you decide to become a teacher and why did you choose this field?

“I chose to teach in my second year of college, but I wanted to be a nurse but I changed my mind.”

What do you find most frustrating about teaching?

“Keeping students motivated.”

How do you motivate students to learn?

“I try to make things more fun than serious.”

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a teacher?

Strengths- “I’m a good motivator and well organized.”

Weaknesses- “I stress to much over state tests.”

Congratulations Mrs. Edwards on being teacher of the year! We enjoy having you as a teacher. Your work has been outstanding throughout the year. Thank you for all you do for CHS!

Winter Formal

The Winter Formal was Monday the 9 of February. It was hosted by BETA and ACT Rewards program. There was a total of $505 raised for the ACT program.

Songs that were played were: Friends by Marshmello and Anna-Marie, Cupid Shuffle, Cha CHa Slide, Whip ‘n Nea Nea, and Fresh Prince of Bel Aire.

On March 12 our juniors took the Act test. They have been pushed to endure 20 sessions of act prep and four hours of extra help. They were rewarded for their hard work with pizza and a movie. We at Paw Prints hope that our students did their very best and we wish them best on their future endeavors.
